8085 Microprocessor Based Projects

by admin on September 4, 2012

The 8085 microprocessor is one of the foremost microprocessors invented during late 1970s. The 8085 microprocessor is the successive processor to 8080 processing unit whose most distinguished features include great compatibility and a very simple voltage prerequisite. The 8085 microprocessor witnessed its most beneficial usage not just a system processor, but in face as a microcontroller to most of the hardware applications.

The 8085 microprocessor is an eight bit microprocessor. This implies that the 8085 can process the greatest chunk of information at any point of time, and is limited to 8-bits. This microprocessor was introduced in 3 variants – 8085 A, M8085AH, and 8085AH. The difference among these 3 variants is operating speed of their clocks, which are 3, 5 and 6 MHz respectively. Another distinguishing feature of 8085 microprocessor includes its rail requirement of single +5 Volt rail, and its transistor count of 6500 which is 500 more than its previous model.
